About me

Welcome and thank you for visiting my blog! My name is Karlene Baila. I am currently a school library media specialist in Danbury, Connecticut. I have been working as an educator since 1999. My first six years were spent as a fourth grade teacher and I've been a media specialist since 2005. I've always been an avid reader and remember spending lots of time at the bookstore, library, and paperback exchange when I was young(er). I must confess that I had my apprehensions about e-readers and swore I would always need the feeling of the actual book in my hand. But, I am a true convert and much prefer an e-reader (everywhere except the beach, that is...sand is not an e-reader's friend). Over the past year, I've started perusing some of the books/reading sites that are out there. I did a lot of bookswapping on Goodreads until I happened upon NetGalley. I now have quite a few galleys downloaded on my computer, my iPad, and my Kobo reader. As I read, I will be posting reviews-some for adult novels and some YA works.
